Memorial Day Ceremony at Beech Grove Cemetery Accompanied by America’s Hometown Band

The City of Muncie’s 2018 Memorial Day honor ceremony at Beech Grove Cemetery is on
Monday, May 28. This event takes place on the grounds of the American Legion section,
starting at 10:45 am with a musical prelude performed by America’s Hometown Band. Beech
Grove Cemetery is located at 1400 W. Kilgore Ave, with entrances off Kilgore and off Nichols
Ave on the west edge of the property. The event is Free and open to the public.
The program is coordinated by Beech Grove Cemetery officials. The proceedings include
remarks from Mayor Dennis Tyler and a speaker from the Delaware County Veterans
Organization, the presentation of colors, a rifle salute, and a reading of veterans’ names who
have died in the year since Memorial Day 2017. The playing of Taps by AHB cornetists closes
The non-profit America’s Hometown Band is the municipal band of Muncie, and is honored to
perform at this U.S. military remembrance. Musical Director is Roger McConnell, with Assistant
Directors Phil Cooley and Will Frazier.
