Rare INdiana Finds Exhibit
January 13 - January 31
More than 90 photos were entered in the “Rare INdiana Finds” Instagram Photo Contest. Fifteen of those photos have been chosen for an exhibit that will open in January at Kennedy Library in Muncie.
Participants were asked to snap a photo of something in nature they don’t see every day. The results were nothing short of breathtaking, from tiny frogs to large longhorns, delicate dewdrops to vibrant flowers.
Judges were Carl Schafer of Gordy’s Fine Art and Framing, award-winning nature photographer Marvin Groves, and Ball State University biology professor
Please join us for a reception celebrating the photographers from 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 13 at the library, 1700 W McGalliard Road.
Exhibit partners are Gordy’s Fine Art and Framing and Muncie Public Library.
“Rare INdiana Finds” is part of WIPB’s Rare INdiana project, made possible with a grant from WGBH, in conjunction with the PBS program “RARE – Creatures of the Photo Ark,” which premiered in July on WIPB.
WIPB-TV and its partners also created a 30-minute special that aired on WIPB and offered digital content, nature walks and much more.
Be sure to visit Kennedy Library throughout the month of January to see the “Rare INdiana Finds” exhibit.
