We now meet every Sunday, starting at 3p and often going until The Cup closes. Not everyone has a yarn project, not everyone crochets or knits. Some bring mending or work on jewelry crafts or sketch. Visiting Artist Presentation: Chris Sickels

Award winning artist and children’s book illustrator Chris Sickels creates 3D illustrations and stop-motion animations, making images come to life with textures, light, and elbow grease.  His illustrations and animations have been recognized by American Illustration, Communication Arts, and HOW. He has received three gold and one silver medal for his illustrations from the Society of Illustrators, and his stop-motion animated films have screened at various festivals including the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival and the Montreal Stop-Motion Film Festival.  Sickels…

Petty Memorial Lecture

Dr. Scott Shields, associate director and curator of the Crocker Art Museum in Sacremento, will explore the artist's life and Richard Diebenkorn: Beginnings, 1942-1955, the spring Special Exhibition at DOMA. A reception begins at 5pm followed by the lecture at 6pm. Guests will have the opportunity for a special viewing of the exhibition. This event is made possible by the support of the Edmund F. Petty Memorial Fund.
