Visiting Artist Jennifer Trask

April 7, 2016 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

The School of Art at Ball State University presents a public lecture by jewelry and sculpture artist Ms. Jennifer Trask as the next event in it’s Visiting Artists, Designers, and Scholars 2015-2016 series.

Jennifer Trask is known for her exuberant neo-Baroque compositions of horn, bone and other organic materials. Her work includes jewelry but extends into the realm of sculpture in unusual ways. work ranges from neo-Baroque necklaces of gilded antler, through frame-like wall pieces to amazing trompe l’oeil florals fabricated from python skeletons and sewing needles. She has work in collections such as the Smithsonian, the Museum of Art and Design in New York, and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.

Anyone interested in metals, jewelry, sculpture and highly innovative approaches to form and meaning will greatly enjoy this presentation.
