Visiting Video and Media Artist Lydia Moyer

March 24, 2016 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

The School of Art at Ball State University is excited to present a public lecture by video and media artist Ms. Lydia Moyer as the next event in it’s Visiting Artists, Designers, and Scholars 2015-2016 series.

Lydia Moyer is a visual artist and media maker. She lives and works in central Virginia where she is an associate professor at the University of Virginia and director of the new media program in the art department. Her work approaches documentary concerns through the lens of studio art — collecting and manipulating archival, appropriated and original material to play with the premise of truth. She aligns her moving image work with the concerns of video art and its activist history rather than that of cinema.

For anyone interested in video and new media art, Ms. Moyer’s presentation is a must-see event.
